I’m Kelsey, and my blood type is probably some type of coffee!
If you’ve ever been to one of my classes, you’ve probably seen me walk with a coffee in hand. I began doing yoga as just something else to add into my workout routine, but after a while, I started getting a nudge to focus more on yoga. After shifting my focus, I realized quickly that yoga wasn’t just a “workout.” I found medicine through my movements and breath. Yoga helped pull me out of a really dark time in my life, and guided me back home to myself. By “back home to myself,” I mean I found a sense of inner peace and contentment within myself that I’ve never had before. I love doing yoga, because I love not only how it makes me feel in my body, but also the clarity and peace it offers me afterwards.
I decided to become a yoga teacher because I want others to experience what I do for themselves. It’s my passion to help empower people to get reacquainted with themselves and learn how to intentionally slow down in their lives. I want my students to feel at home with themselves – body, mind, and soul – not just on the mat, but to be able to integrate that feeling off the mat as well.
Teaching experience
In 2019, I became a 200 hour RYT through This Land Yoga in OKC, and I am currently working towards my 500 hour certification with Yoga Medicine. I enjoy teaching both Vinyasa and Restorative yoga. I find that my classes vary depending on my mood, but I love crafting creative classes that challenge you (mind & body). My hope is that you leave my classes feeling rejuvenated, calm, centered, and overall feeling more at home with yourself than you did when you walked in.
Fun Facts
I am married and 3 children – ages 14, 13, &…get ready for it….2! Yes, TWO.
I love to read! I read 131 books last year. I have what I call an “emotional support Kindle” – I always have with me.
I’m not very good at small talk, but love meaningful conversations.
I love to write. I love picking up a pen when I have that “post-yoga, zenned-out clarity” to find the pen almost moving on its own accord.
